Corrugated pipes are used in fields such as civil engineering, agriculture, automobiles, and medicine.
Most of the manufacturing equipment for such items operating in Japan used to be imported from overseas. In the case of imported machines, manufacturers are often different for each component, thus it was difficult to centrally manage the control and monitoring of the production line as a whole. In addition, the domestic procurement of electrical components and motor-related parts could be difficult, and keeping spare parts for maintenance took time and efforts.
As a solution to all these problems, PLA GIKEN started developing a full production line for corrugated pipes, and in 1994, the company entered into a technical tie-up with Corelco of France. By adding Corelco’s expertise in mold block designs and molding process to our tube manufacturing technology, an epoch-making system was born that can collectively manage all component devices via a touch panel.
We take responsibility for all follow-ups after delivery. The advantage of PLA GIKEN's corrugator equipment is its small-diameter molding (4.0 mm in diameter and up), making it the most-suitable manufacturing equipment for medical and automotive applications. In addition, by combining this equipment with the multi-layered tube forming technology that we have cultivated over years, we have successfully designed a double-walled pipe forming machine for agricultural underdrainage pipes for the first time as a Japanese company.
